I installed this manual patch thing recently, but there is a problem: when I try to connect to the Internet it says "Login failed, key or profile not found, login failed". What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Re: Problem with connecting.
I do know that you have to run sacrifice through "SacPro.exe" And not "Sacrifice.exe" anymore. And also, sometimes the server is down. Try the first if you haven't yet.

It doesn't matter which one I open the game with, it says that.
Also, another problem arose as well: I can't open Scapex because it says "Error initializing graphics library" then closes. I have DirectX 9.0c. What could be the problem?

Re: Problem with connecting.
I assume the first means that the CD key you're using is bad, or has been banned. Did you purchase Sac or torrent it? If the former, where did you buy it?
The Scapex issue is something all new Scapexers get when they first try to open it. You have to change the resolution of the program by right clicking it's icon, going to properties and from there changing the resolution (I do not remember the specific res number to change to, so just try trial and error for now).

Re: Problem with connecting.
I got the game from a CD in a gaming magazine. (The Hungarian GameStar)
Change the resolution... where? I go to Properties, but there I only see a Compatibility tab where I can have Scapex.exe run in 640x480 resolution, but that doesn't help, the error message is the same.

Hmm, if you could somehow get a different CD key, perhaps by a key generator or torrent, that would most likely solve the problem.
Ah, I believe I remember now; you have to change your desktop resolution in order for Scapex to work.

Thanks.
And where could I get one of these keygens? One that's not filled with viruses, I mean...

Re: Problem with connecting.
You could buy a copy from gog.com, amazon.com, or Steam. That's the safest way. You can also search for Sacrifice keygens, which is not as safe.

Re: Problem with connecting.
You know, I'm not going to buy another Sacrifice copy just so that I can play its multiplayer - that's not the way they're gonna milk me. Not to mention I hate buying stuff over the 'Net too.
That was my question actually, whether I could get a keygen without having my computer infected. If not... well, no Sacrifice multiplayer for me.

Remember though, it's not guarenteed that you'll get a virus; if you have an anti-virus up the chances are even slimmer. If you don't think the chances are worth it that's fine. Of course, another CD key may not be the answer either, but that's what it sounds like.

Re: Problem with connecting.
Well, I tried using this program called "Sandboxie" - isolates areas of the system for applications so downloaded viruses can't go rampant - but so far I haven't had much luck. I didn't get to download a proper keygen program, I only got some CD keys in a notepad file which even return matches in Google when searched for. Those aren't likely to work in multiplayer, right?
Thanks for your help so far, hopefully a new key will solve it.

Try them out, they may work.

Re: Problem with connecting.
Woah! One of them (the second one I tried) seems to connect alright. I'll patch up again and then we'll see if I'll have any success with Multiplayer.
Of course, it's not well at all. When I tried to apply patch 3 (already applied, but applying the one I downloaded removes the lame no-blood patch - the German GameStar crew is responsible) it offered to install the patch into E:\WINDOWS-0 or something. I couldn't change the target directory (stupid! If I can't, what's the point in telling me?) so I couldn't install the patch but then I decided to Shift-Del the whole directory (backupping saves and downloaded maps first). It still registers the game as installed though and I can only "uninstall" the game via the Setup.exe on the CD, but when trying to do so, after it says it's uninstalled - nothing happens. What do I do now? Currently, it's impossible for me to run Sacrifice or even reinstall it.
(Basically, I need to get the system to realise I deleted the game and to stop it from trying to patch a game in E:\WINDOWS.0.)
EDIT: Nevermind it all, system restore solved the problem and I can now play online! We'll see how this goes.
