HOWTO: connect to gamesurge with chatzilla

Chatzilla is an irc client plugin for Firefox. You must have firefox installed to use Chatzilla

Install Chatzilla

1. Menu / Tools / Add-ons
   
2. Enter Chatzilla in the search box. Chatzilla should be the first result.
   
3. Click the Add to Firefox... button and follow instructions.
   
4. Restart Firefox (might not be necesary).

Configure Chatzilla

1. Start Chatzilla (tools / Chatzilla)
   
2. If the preferences dialog does not come up automatcially, choose Chatzilla / Preferences... from the menu
   
3. On the General tab, enter a description, nickname, and username
   
4. (suggestion) On the DCC tab, check both "Enable DCC" and "Get local IP from server"
   
5. tweak other settings as desired
   
6. click OK
   

Connect to gamesurge

1. Enter /server irc.gamesurge.net
   You should see a lengthy welcome message
   
2. Enter /join #gpg!5
   You should see all your old buddies in the chat room!
   
3. (suggestion) menu / irc / join this channel at startup
   
4. (suggestion) enter /help
   (this just gives you an idea of the commands available)

Um sheep. /server irc.gamesurge.org won't connect. However, /server irc.gamesurge.net will connect.
